Sneaker Sunday: Vans Sk8-Hi MTE NASA Space Voyager

It’s been a few years since I’ve bought a pair of Vans but when I saw these coming up the pipeline, I knew I had to try and get them.  The Sk8-hi is a classic Vans model that I had never worn before.  I’m pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they are although this version of the Sk8-Hi has some extra modifications. Which include “Vans Deluxe weather-resistant leather uppers, warm linings, and a heat retention layer between sockliner and outsole keep feet warm and dry while the newly-constructed vulcanized lug outsole takes advantage of 20 years of snow boot history for maximum traction.”

Style-wise, these are pretty cool.  Removable patches allow you to customize how you wear them and the “true white” color is slightly different than any other white shoes I own.  The black accents on the collar and laces are a really nice touch and I love the exposed foam underneath.

The details really make this shoe. The Voyager 1 & 2 patch, the “For the Benefit of All” quote on the heel to the thick gum bottom that makes it look like you can walk on the moon, these kicks are out of this world.   Overall, very happy I stepped away from my Nike obsession to pick these up.
