With all this sitting at home lately, I’ve found a lot of time for YouTube videos to go along with my music. From live videos, to animation to movies soundtracks, each of the tracks below has some form of visual stimulation to go with it that I thought was cool. As always, the Spotify playlist is below with the breakdown (videos attached) located underneath the playlist. Hope you enjoy…
Breakdown:
- With a Little Help From My Friends by Joe Cocker: I’ve heard this song probably a thousand times and listened to Joe Cocker even more than that. Never have I ever seen what this man looks like or how he performs. It’s pretty wild if you’ve never seen it….
- I’m Going Home by Ten Years After: Continuing my education on Woodstock and psychedelic rock…. a coworker introduced me to Alvin Lee and Ten Years After. I’d never heard of them previously but the performance below convinced me to give them a deeper look…
- DIET_ by Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats: The chemistry between Kenny Beats and Denzel Curry is off the charts. Their performance on Kenny Beats’ show The Cave is an all-timer but it’s their full length album (mixtape?) that takes the cake. “DIET_” is my favorite track off of the tape but below is the entire visual album that goes with “Unlocked.”
- Oprah’s Bank Account by Lil Yachty f/ Drake and DaBaby: I miss Hip Hop videos that just go for the concept and stick to it. This song and video remind me of a simpler time…
- Greenback Dollar by The Kingston Trio: I caught the end of this movie called “Thank you For Smoking” and as the credits rolled, this fucking song came on. This is like the biggest cowboy-FU-song I’ve ever heard and I’m in love with it.
- Lalala by bbn$ and Y2K: Sometimes scrolling through YouTube videos can be dangerous, other times you find something totally weird yet sort of catchy. This video and song is the latter…
- Mover Awayer by Hobo Johnson and The Lovemakers: If you haven’t heard of Hobo by now, consider this your introduction. The live performance below basically sums up why I like him so much and why his particular brand of music-making is so unique….
